Having booked your wedding venue, and chosen your dresses (Bridal gown and Bridesmaids), you are now ready to begin planning your wedding flowers!
Before you book your free hour consultation with us, we suggest you spend a little time looking at pictures of other weddings online and in magazines for inspiration. Feel free to bring along any pictures, fabric swatches or notes to your consultation as these give your florist a really good indication of your likes, dislikes and vision for your wedding! Before your consultation, remember:
1. Don’t panic if you haven’t spotted any pictures of bouquets you like yet, as we have lots of pictures, magazines and (most importantly) imagination to offer!!
2. Don’t worry if flower knowledge isn’t your strong point! It really doesn’t matter if you don’t know a Rose from a Rhododendron. That’s what your florist is here to help with!
RIGHT THEN! Down to the nitty gritty. The following checklist will provide you with a starting price for the possible items you might require from your florist. They aren’t all essential, and your budget will dictate how many flower arrangements you opt for. The important ones are highlighted in blue to help you prioritise. Please note, prices do not include VAT, which is charged at 20%.
Think about the shape and style of your bridal gown. Shower bouquets can work well with fuller skirts, as their cascading shape complements the outline of your dress. Hand tied bouquets work well with any style of dress, but as a rule look stunning with a straighter/narrower skirt.

How many bridesmaids do you have? Are they adults or children? Would you like them all to carry the same flowers or something different?

Flowers for Hair.
Have you decided on your hair style for the day yet? You might like to add a flower later!

At most weddings, the usual recipients of a buttonhole or corsage would be the Groom, Best Man, Ushers and Parents of the Bride and Groom. Extra recipients might include Grandparents, Siblings and partners of Siblings.
Ceremony and Reception Flowers.
Think carefully about the positioning of your arrangements- choose locations that are at eye level, or just inside/outside entrances, for maximum impact. Could you use some larger arrangements twice? For example, the arrangement for your registrar’s table, might also double up as a top table arrangement.
